Pataks Extra Hot Curry Paste 283g
Well the name says it all really... this if for you if you like your curry hot.... very, very hot. This curry paste combines the spices of cumin, coriander, turmeric and chilli (lots!), with a tomato flavour, and is really versatile if you want to add a real bite to your dish. It makes a great curry, but also works beautifully by adding extra spice and heat to a range of other dishes - check out our recipe section for some fab ideas.
Ingredients - Water, Vegetable oil, Coriander, Cumin, Concentrated tomato puree (4%), Salt, Maize flour, Turmeric, Chilli (3%), Acetic Acid, Spices (contains mustard), Sugar, Ground ginger, Tamarind, Garlic powder, Citric acid, Lactic acid
Patak's Curry Pastes make excellent marinades, used on their own or blended 50:50 with plain yogurt. Marinate meat then bake, BBQ or grill.
Extra Hot Chicken Curry - Serves 2
Ingredients:
250g Diced Chicken
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 Medium Onion Diced
70g Patak's Extra Hot Curry Paste
100ml Water
200g Fresh or Canned Chopped Tomatoes
1 tsp Fresh Chopped Coriander Leaf (optional)
Method:
In a medium sized pan, gently fry the onions in oil until golden.
Stir in Patak's Extra Hot Curry Paste, add the chicken and stir fry until sealed.
Add the tomatoes and water, mix well and cover the pan.
Simmer on a low heat for 20mins.
Serve garnished with the chopped coriander leaf.
